Articles, Talks & Workshops can be tailored to your needs.

I have a long work experience in teaching, children & adults, and am DBS checked. I am also a casual tutor for Worcestershire County Council. I could write, teach or talk about crochet, knitting, fashion history or perhaps a specific area of knitting/clothing history? No group is too large or too small. Rates vary depending upon the group, the distance, the subject and so on.

I have also previously written articles and content for various publications, in my previous career.

If you would like to arrange a workshop or talk, or would like a written piece for publication, please use the contact form to discuss requirements and fees.

Public events and workshops arranged by Vintage Stitches will feature here as they are arranged, and also on social media.

Be it basic skills, or something more complicated. Different techniques or stitches, sewing up, how to square up a picture to make your own pattern...there are endless possibilities!

Even the most intricate crochet work starts with the same few basic stitches. Again, from basic stitches, to something more intricate, pattern design, blocking, delicate lace crochet, chunky c2c blankets, amigurumi...the list is endless.

Vintage/Historical Knitting

How long have people been knitting for? What uses does knitting/crochet have? What has changed over the years? WHat do I need to know to be able to knit from a vintage pattern? What vintage patterns am I able to knit?

Knitting for the Forces

What comforts did the Forces need? How were patterns issued and what did they look like? How did knitted comforts  get made and distributed? How did England differ from the rest of the world? Who could knit comforts? How did the government rally its troops of knitters?
